In 1997 after an old Victorian house was demolished on North Avenue next to Roeser’s Bakery in Humboldt Park, a pre-Prohibition ghost sign was revealed. Conrad Seipp was a major Chicago brewer and builder of Black Point in Lake Geneva, now open to the public. His daughter Elsa married into another prominent Chicago brewing family, the Madleners. Their house in the Gold Coast is now owned by the Graham Foundation, which uses it for public art exhibitions. (Source)
